Hi Gokul, this is an important article. Even at our company we do practice these criteria.
ReplyDeleteAt the final interview we ask our candidates to do a presentation on some given topics. These topics include,
Introduction about themselves
SWOT analysis on them
Why they think they are needed to this company
What are they going to do for the company if they got selected
What is humility
How they are going to practice humility at the company
What i think is today's candidates should expand not only their paper qualifications, but their communication skills, leadership skills as well, because in this rapidly changing business environment now a day's companies are looking for competitive people. Job market possess very good jobs with attractive packages but still they are not in a position to recruit suitable candidates for these vacancies, because of lacking communication skills and personality in candidates.
And another important thing that every candidate should know is that with the globalization most companies in Sri Lanka uses English language to provide better customer service, where most of our candidates possess weak English language skills. So what i think is students should start focus on their English language speaking skills from their childhood onwards. Bacause when it comes to job market most of the companies are looking for candidates who can communicate well in English. So candidates must improve their English language skills as same as their paper qualifications.
Amd also we do give them a placement test paper which cnisders abiut candidate's Mathematicla knowledge. IQ, English language skills.
Yes I’m agree with you but Randika Employees have huge responsibilities and they play most essential role in human resources management since they are the main assets in the organization and great performance and good innovative employees are the foundation of productivity.
DeleteLeaders set the targets or guide the direction and execute the corporate strategy that develops the commitments and also supporting to employees innovation that can increase productivity of employees.
Staffs cooperation and sharing improvements both best practice to improve efficiency. Successful reward system for employees where can see better performance and it motivate employees. Hi Gokul,
ReplyDeleteHR professionals often see themselves stuck when they aren’t receiving resumes from candidates with strong backgrounds or skill sets needed for the position. Even if these recruiters reach out to passive job seekers, they may hit a brick wall, in terms of finding the talent they need. This is an all-too-common problem for recruiters, but one that they are starting to face more often as the competition for key performers heats up. In order to overcome the situation, there should be a great balance between hiring someone for position-need versus hiring someone that’s great regardless of position. HR professionals need to get out of the mindset of hiring for a position, rather than assembling superstar talent. While recruiters may have to fill a certain position, they should also be open to training and educating talented workers, so they can acquire needed skills. HR representatives can also adjust the position’s job description by identifying the strengths and expertise of the employee to get the maximum to the organization.
Yes Shashikala at some point you right but now companies have developed far better than what we are thinking. Though have received 1000 CVs will be selected only for interviews that suite to the designation and job role that can perform more than 100% . Yes you are right HR need to get more attention on training and development for employees to get qualified for particular skills so then it will help to create good performers and quality worker for company to reach the task on given time.
DeleteHi, Gokul, Employee retention is cannot be controlled by the at the interview because more effective is post recruitment than pre recruitment. However, it could work for some organization but organization where expecting employees to put their effort for achieving organizational goal, I think it much result oriented if the management can make organizational culture into employee friendly environment that exclude hire and fire policy and implement best practice while creating and hiring more transformation leaders who can win heart of employees and fill their emotional bank accounts.
ReplyDeleteYes it's right but your comment irrelevant to this heading "retention" and I didn't mention anything against that you commented anyway thank you for your comment and may I know how did you get into my blog?
DeleteThe best way for employee retention is to make them engaged with their work as well as the organization. This will make them organizational citizens and cohesive to the company. This will have great impact on the employee retention. furthermore, It is the responsibility of the line managers as well as the management to ensure that the employees are satisfied with their roles and responsibilities and the job is offering them a new challenge and learning every day.
